Community Water Purifier
Like all across Africa, unsafe water is a major issue in Kager village. In a village of nearly 4,000 people, there are only two safe water access points in the village (two boreholes). Many people use the water from 3 major ponds that are polluted by sanitation runoff and livestock. The first project ever deployed in the village was a New Life International Water Purifier, a water purifier tthat uses electricity (battery), table salt and water to create chlorine which kills harmful bacteria in the water. The purifier can treat up to 55 gallons per minute depending upon water quality and the size of the unit.
